Proofreader/Quality check

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION :

1.Reads typescript or proof page to detect and mark for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors
2.Check page numbers and headings are correct, Spelling and other aspects, such as use of capital letters, are consistent, Chapter headings match the contents table, Photos and illustrations are correctly captioned
3.Check spelling and grammar.
4.Reads proof against copy, marking by standardized code, errors that appear in proof.
5.Raise appropriate compositor queries.
6.Returns marked proof for correction and later checks corrected proof against copy.
7.May measure dimensions, spacing, and positioning of page elements to verify conformance to specifications, using printer\'s ruler.
8.Ensures that pages are whole and logically arranged
9.He/she should be able to carry out the work mentioned in an independent manner.
10.He/she should be able to quality-check the work of his/her team members.
11.He/she should plan and monitor the flow of work (based on priorities)
12.He/she should be able to provide classroom/on-the-job training to his/her team members and help them overcome their weaknesses.
13.He/she should be responsible for his/her team producing an error-free output.
He/she should check the mail correspondence regarding workflow regularly
