CHARLIE CHAPLIN is the greatest of the greatest film maker of the world( 1889-1977). In the 75 years of film making he created only few films, but every film was a great gift to the film lovers. He was the director, producer, script writer, comic actor, editor and composer...of his films. In 1940 he made a controversial film on the autocrat Adolf Hitler. The title was The Great Dictator. Hitler was alive then. Chaplin acted in the role of Hitler and imitated him 100%. Everybody had a fear that if Hitler watch that film he will not forgive Chaplin. But Hitler watched the film and laughed for the first time in his life. He also wrote a letter to Chaplin appreciating his talents.
When Chaplin was very young he faced many challenges. His father left his family and married another woman. Chaplin's mother started singing in a music theatre for livelihood. Many times they were not able to get the both hands meet. Poverty was their brand. Everyday he used to go to the studio and watching his mother singing standing behind the curtains. One day his mother lost her voice while singing on the stage. The audience came with the tickets turned furious. They were eager to throw stones to her. Young Chaplin was loving his mother like anything. He wished to rescue his mother, suddenly jumped on the stage and started creating some mannerisms and pranks. He also imitated his mothers broken voice. The audience who were so furious loved his comedy. Threw the stones down and started watching his performance. That day Chaplin realised that his strength was comic acting. He was 9 then!
